Why I Created the Heartland Humane Spotlight Page for Heartland Humane Shelter Dogs
Social media is great for sharing quick updates, but posts can get buried pretty fast. I wanted to create a more permanent place where the dogs I’ve walked during the 150 Miles for Shelter Dogs challenge could be featured and remembered.
The Heartland Humane Spotlight page gives each dog a little more room to shine. It’s a place where people can learn about their personalities, see what they’re like outside the kennel, and hopefully feel a stronger connection with them.
What You Can Find on the Spotlight Page
On the Heartland Humane Spotlight page, I’ll be featuring adoptable dogs from Heartland Humane Society that I’ve had the chance to walk. Each spotlight will include information about the dog, photos, videos and notes from our walk together.
Some dogs are playful and full of energy. Some are calm, gentle, and just happy to spend time with someone. Every dog is different and unique.
How You Can Help
One of the easiest ways to help is by sharing the Heartland Humane Spotlight page and the posts about these dogs. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt right now, your share could help the right person see the right dog at the right time.
You can also follow along with the 150 Miles for Shelter Dogs challenge, support Heartland Humane Society, or consider adopting if you’re ready to add a new pet to your family.
Every share and every little bit of attention helps give these dogs a better chance at finding the homes they deserve.
150 Miles for Shelter Dogs Update
So far, we’ve made it to 37.9 miles out of the 150-mile goal!
Every mile has been a chance to give a shelter dog exercise, enrichment, attention, and a little extra visibility. These dogs have been waiting for homes for months, some close to a year or more.
My goal with this challenge is bigger than just walking miles. It’s about helping people see these dogs as individuals. It’s about giving them more exposure. And hopefully, helping more of them find the homes they deserve.
I’ll continue updating the Heartland Humane Spotlight page as I walk more dogs throughout the challenge. Thank you to everyone who has followed along, shared posts, and supported the dogs at Heartland Humane Society.
We’re at 37.9 miles and counting — and every step is for the shelter dogs. ❤️🐾
