Current progress: 6.6 / 150 miles completed
At Lucky’s Dog Walks, our mission has always been simple: help dogs live happier, healthier lives through consistent walks, attention, and care.
This summer, we’re taking that mission one step further, actually, 150 miles further.
Lucky’s Dog Walks is walking 150 miles with local shelter dogs to help give them exercise, enrichment, attention, and a better chance at finding their forever homes.
Why 150 Miles?
Shelter dogs spend a lot of time waiting. Waiting for walks. Waiting for attention. Waiting for someone to notice them.
A simple walk can make a huge difference.
For a shelter dog, a walk is more than just exercise. It gives them a break from the kennel, a chance to smell new things, burn off energy, build confidence, and show off their personality outside of a stressful shelter environment.
Some dogs are playful and full of energy. Some are calm and affectionate. Some just need a little patience before they feel safe enough to open up. Walking them helps us get to know who they really are and helps the community see them as more than just a name on a kennel card.
Helping Shelter Dogs Get Seen
One of the biggest goals of this campaign is visibility.
Throughout the 150-mile journey, we’ll be sharing photos, videos, and updates of the dogs we walk. Each dog has their own personality, their own story, and their own reason why they deserve a second chance.
By posting about them, we hope to help more people connect with these dogs, share their stories, and maybe even help them find homes.
Even if someone isn’t ready to adopt, a like, comment, share, or kind word can still help these dogs reach someone who is.
What the Walks Do for the Dogs
Regular walks can help shelter dogs in several important ways:
They get physical exercise, which helps reduce stress and built-up energy.
They get mental stimulation from new smells, sights, and surroundings.
They get one-on-one attention from someone who cares.
They get a chance to practice leash skills and build confidence.
Most importantly, they get a break from the kennel and a chance to just be dogs.
For some dogs, even a short walk can completely change their mood. You can see them relax, get excited, or start to trust a little more with every step.
Lucky’s Dog Walks and the Community
Lucky’s Dog Walks was built around the idea that dogs deserve dependable, compassionate care. Whether it’s a daily walk for a client’s dog or a volunteer walk for a shelter dog, every walk matters.
This campaign is also about showing what a local pet care business can do for the community. We’re proud to use our time, energy, and platform to support dogs who need it most.
The 150-mile goal is a challenge, but it’s also a reminder: small efforts add up. One walk at a time, one dog at a time, one mile at a time.
How You Can Help
You don’t have to walk 150 miles to make a difference.
You can help by following along with the campaign, sharing posts about the dogs, donating to or supporting your local shelter, volunteering, fostering, or adopting when the time is right.
You can also simply help spread the word. The more people who see these dogs, the better chance they have of finding the right home.
Follow the Journey
We’ll be posting updates as we work toward the 150-mile goal, including the dogs we walk, their personalities, and the progress we make along the way.
Thank you to everyone supporting Lucky’s Dog Walks and cheering on these shelter dogs. Every mile is for them.
150 miles. Countless tail wags. One mission: helping shelter dogs get the love, attention, and homes they deserve.
